All the kids did a great job. Although we only took a handful of students, we definitely did well and our youth students placed several times in different divisions including No-Gi by weight, No-Gi by age, Gi by weight, and Gi by Age.
Although having just a few months experience, the Redline MMA youth students did great scoring point after point by taking down their opponents and moving to dominant positions.
The First Division, No-gi by weight, finished with Matthew winning 1st in his weight group and Mahea taking a close second in her division.
The second division, No-Gi by age had a similar outcome but this time, Matthew took 1st, Wai took 3rd, and Mahea took 3rd.
The third division was Gi by weight. This time Matthew took 2nd place, and Mahea again placed 3rd.
The fourth and final division concluded the tournament with Matthew once again finishing 1st.
We look forward to the next tournament on May 22nd. We should have several other children from the class also competing in this tournament, and we look forward to the chance at bringing home lots of medals.

Will do ALL beginner no-gi / beginner no-gi open weight / white belt gi / white belt gi open weight first
All other comnpetitors intermediate no-gi and higher / blue belt gi and higher will not start until 2:00pm or upon completion of all beginner and white belt divisions.

Preregistration is open for US Grappling’s first Submission Only tournament in Savannah, Georgia on Saturday, February 13th, 2010 at the Supergoose Sports Facility. This venue is very convenient to I-95 and I-16.
$500 cash prize for the men’s no-gi advanced absolute!
Saturday weigh ins will be held from 8 AM to 10 AM for anyone competing in no gi divisions, and will be extended to noon for anyone that will only be competing in the gi. Competitors can also register and weigh in Friday night (more info coming). Competitors do not need to wear the gi during weigh ins.
First matches will begin at 11 AM.

Note: This event is for adults only. Teens may compete in adult divisions with permission of their parents and coaches.
