Mixed Martial Arts or MMA as it is known, is a growing sport. Because of the mixture of martial arts in MMA, this style allows for a very realistic method of self-defense while being well-rounded enough to compete on many levels. Redline MMA is the first and the foremost school in Pooler, GA for instructing mixed martial arts.
Redline MMA was originally started in Savannah Georgia as Savannah Martial Arts Academy and still offers the same great style of instruction but now includes more adult classes including Mixed Martial Arts, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai and Cardio Kickboxing, Fitness Training and Martial Arts Classes for Children starting at 5 years old.
We not only teach for self-defense, but also for fitness, and also for competition (including mma, submission grappling, and kick boxing). Our classes are great for adults and for children. Our Beginner and Advanced Youth Zanshindo / MMA classes range in ages from 5 to 13 years old and teach the fundamentals of our style: Zanshindo, while giving the students a complete mixed martial arts experience.
For adults, our mixed martial arts classes are the ultimate in realism. These classes teach adults the value of technique as well as the endurance necessary to finish with the determination to get through any attack.

Redline MMA fighter and trainer Demetrice Turner was interviewed for the April / May issue of South Magazine. Pick up a copy today to read it. Demetrice just recently got accepted to Wanderlei Silva’s Professional Fight Team in Las Vegas NV. He has been involved in martial arts his whole life and has trained with Savannah MMA / Redline MMA for about 3.5 years. We have may different classes available and would love for you to train with us as well.
All the kids did a great job. Although we only took a handful of students, we definitely did well and our youth students placed several times in different divisions including No-Gi by weight, No-Gi by age, Gi by weight, and Gi by Age.
Although having just a few months experience, the Redline MMA youth students did great scoring point after point by taking down their opponents and moving to dominant positions.
The First Division, No-gi by weight, finished with Matthew winning 1st in his weight group and Mahea taking a close second in her division.
The second division, No-Gi by age had a similar outcome but this time, Matthew took 1st, Wai took 3rd, and Mahea took 3rd.
The third division was Gi by weight. This time Matthew took 2nd place, and Mahea again placed 3rd.
The fourth and final division concluded the tournament with Matthew once again finishing 1st.
We look forward to the next tournament on May 22nd. We should have several other children from the class also competing in this tournament, and we look forward to the chance at bringing home lots of medals.

Come visit Redline MMA for a wrestling takedowns seminar on March 6th from 1-4pm. This seminar will feature usable takedowns and throws for training, wrestling, submission grappling tournaments, and mixed martial arts fighting.
The class is offered for free to Redline MMA members, but if you would like to train, please come! We are asking for $40 for non-members as this will be an outstanding chance for any fighter or grappler to learn some great techniques.
The class will be taught by Redline MMA member Duke Oursler. Duke is a superb wrestler who has been competing for over 15 years. He was ranked 12th in the nation in college NCAA Division III wrestling out of Iowa. He has also coached in several programs and has a wealth of experience to share with any new or experienced grappler. In addition to wrestling, Duke has competed in both submission grappling and Mixed Martial Arts.

Preregistration is open for US Grappling’s first Submission Only tournament in Savannah, Georgia on Saturday, February 13th, 2010 at the Supergoose Sports Facility. This venue is very convenient to I-95 and I-16.
$500 cash prize for the men’s no-gi advanced absolute!
Saturday weigh ins will be held from 8 AM to 10 AM for anyone competing in no gi divisions, and will be extended to noon for anyone that will only be competing in the gi. Competitors can also register and weigh in Friday night (more info coming). Competitors do not need to wear the gi during weigh ins.
First matches will begin at 11 AM.
